| Great Living | Jp: daigyo. It is also translated as great practice. Great living refers to the Nembutsu. In the teaching of Shin Buddhism the Nembutsu as the devotee’s way of living is an expression of the attainment of faith in Amida Buddha. It is called ‘great’ as it is a manifestation of the working Amida Buddha rather than an act or practice that belongs to an ordinary unenlightened being.
